Lori’s personal mission is to help local women in the Pacific Northwest facing the tough questions around cervical health. From her own diagnosis with endocervical adenocarcinoma (invasive cervical cancer) at age 34, she is leading the way in education and awareness of HPV-related cancers in her local community. She has been involved with the NCCC since 2007 attending the first annual NCCC survivor's conference in Washington, D.C. and knew she needed to be a part of a group of such eager and groundbreaking partners in women’s health education.

A native of Northern California and a seven year resident of Seattle, Washington, Lori was shocked to find a lack of peer support and cervical cancer resources in her local community when first diagnosed. “I felt so alone as I was going through treatment, no matter how many loving people were actually around me,” states Lori. “I needed to know that there was someone else out there who understood what it meant to have a gynecological cancer.”

Through this journey and her belief in the power of philanthropy and personal outreach, Lori now speaks to the media, teams, local groups, and individuals to empower a change in how cervical disease is viewed in the US and beyond.

A corporate communications and project manager by trade, Lori brings her honest, charismatic, and approachable style to the often difficult subject of reproductive health. She also runs The Joy Guild, a consortium of program activities meant to help adults gain more creative freedom through arts education. In her few spare moments, Lori especially enjoys travel and photography.
